Choosing the right product

What is the difference between a pigeon net and a safety net?

A pigeon net is a light mesh designed only to keep birds out. A safety net uses much thicker twine and stronger anchors so that it can stop a person, pet or object from falling through an opening. They are not interchangeable.

Should I choose a safety net or invisible grills for my balcony?

A safety net costs less, installs quickly and is easy to remove later. Invisible grills use SS 316 stainless-steel cables in aluminium tracks, look neater and last longer. Both protect against falls. Many families choose grills for the long term and nets when they want a quicker, lower-cost solution.

Do invisible grills keep pigeons out?

No. The gap between cables is usually 2–3 inches, which pigeons can pass through. Add a transparent pigeon net behind the grill if birds are a problem.

Which mesh size stops pigeons?

A 50 mm mesh stops pigeons. If sparrows, mynas or other small birds also come in, choose a mesh of around 25 mm.

Which cloth hanger is right for my balcony?

If your balcony has a solid concrete ceiling at a normal height, a ceiling pulley hanger usually holds the most clothes in the least space. If the ceiling is false, sloping or very high, a wall-mounted folding hanger is the better choice.

Installation

How long does an installation take?

Most single balconies, windows and cloth hangers are finished within a few hours. Large balconies, full duct shafts, terraces and several rooms at once can take a day or more.

Do you need to drill holes?

Yes, small holes are drilled for stainless-steel hooks, anchors or tracks. They are placed along the edge of the opening and can be filled if the fitting is removed later.

Do I need permission from my apartment association?

Many associations have rules about fittings visible from outside. Check with yours before the installation date. Transparent nets and invisible grills are usually accepted because they change the look of the building very little.

Can you install in a rented flat?

Yes, with the owner’s permission. Nets, grills and hangers can be removed later, leaving only small holes to fill.

What if there are pigeon eggs or chicks in a nest?

We suggest waiting until the young birds have left before closing the area, so that no birds are trapped. Empty nests are cleared from the fixing points before fitting.

Materials and care

Will the fittings rust?

We use stainless-steel hooks and anchors, and SS 316 cable for invisible grills, which resist rust even in humid and coastal cities.

How do I clean a net?

Brush off dust every few weeks and rinse with plain water or mild soap once or twice a year. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

How long do nets last?

It depends mainly on sunlight. UV-stabilised nets in shade last many years; nets in strong direct sun age faster and should be checked more often. Stainless fittings usually outlast the net.

Can children or pets climb on a safety net?

No one should climb, sit or lean on any net. A safety net stops falls through an opening, but it is not a substitute for supervision.
