Our service in Pune
Pune’s housing comes in a few distinct forms. Housing societies of four to seven floors, many built in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, fill older areas such as Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Aundh and Bibwewadi. Large gated townships and towers dominate the newer growth corridors: Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner, Balewadi and Ravet in the west, Kharadi, Viman Nagar and Wagholi in the east, and Hadapsar, Magarpatta, Undri and NIBM Road in the south-east. Row houses and bungalows appear across the suburbs and in established areas such as Koregaon Park and Kalyani Nagar.
In societies, the common requests are pigeon nets for dry balconies and ducts, and balcony safety for children. In towers, it is balcony protection on high floors and invisible grills that suit strict facade rules. In row houses, it is terraces, internal staircases and drying space. We plan each job around the building and any rules your society or association has set.
What makes Pune different
A heavy, steady monsoon
Most of Pune’s rain falls between June and September, often in long, steady spells rather than short bursts, with heavier rain towards the western side of the city near the hills. Weeks of wet weather rust plain iron hooks and stain walls, so we use stainless-steel fittings throughout. Nets are tensioned well so they do not sag when wet and windy.
Hot, dry summers
April and May are hot and dry, and west-facing balconies take hours of strong sun. Plain plastic nets become brittle under that exposure. We use UV-stabilised HDPE and nylon nets made to resist sun damage.
The dry balcony
Many Pune flats have a “dry balcony” next to the kitchen for the washing machine, water purifier and drying clothes. It is usually the quietest part of the flat, which makes it the favourite pigeon spot, and it is where most families want a cloth hanger. We often net and fit a hanger in the dry balcony in the same visit.
Housing society rules
Pune’s cooperative housing societies and township associations often have clear rules about balcony fittings, from net colour to whether grills may protrude beyond the facade. Transparent nets and invisible grills usually fit within them. We are happy to explain the installation to your society committee.
Monkeys near the hills
Pune is ringed by hills, and some neighbourhoods close to them see monkeys from time to time. Where they visit, a heavy-duty monkey net is the right choice; a pigeon net will not stop them.
