Homes in Chirala
Chirala is a town of independent houses. In the older parts, such as Perala, Jandrapeta and Kothapeta, houses stand close together along narrow streets, often with an upper floor added over the years. Ramanagar, ILTD Colony and the streets around Station Road have settled family homes. Beyond the town, Ipurupalem and Vetapalem have grown alongside it, and Vodarevu and Ramapuram sit close to the sea.
Most jobs here are for houses: a net along the roof parapet and the open side of the staircase, pigeon nets on ventilators and the upstairs balcony, and a rack so washing can dry under cover. Families with young children also ask for balcony and window protection.
What we plan for
Salt in the air
Close to the coast, the air carries salt, and plain iron hooks rust within a season, leaving brown stains down the wall. Every hook and anchor we use is stainless steel. Invisible grills use SS 316 cable, which resists salt far better than common grades. Near the beach, a rinse with fresh water now and then keeps nets and cables clean.
Strong sun and sea wind
Roofs and balconies take strong sun for much of the year, and wind off the sea can be steady. We use UV-stabilised nets, tension them firmly and fix anchors closer together on exposed edges.
Rain and storms
Much of the year’s rain arrives with the northeast monsoon, and storms in the Bay of Bengal sometimes bring strong wind. A well-tensioned border keeps nets flat through it.
Roofs in daily use
Families dry clothes, keep water tanks and sit out on the roof in the evening breeze. A safety net above a low parapet lets children play there safely.
Houses that grow
Many families add a floor when they can. Until then, an open roof edge can be netted and the net taken down when building starts again.
How a job works
Send photos of each area on WhatsApp. We arrange a visit, measure everything, suggest materials and give you the price before we start. Most homes are finished in one visit.
