Why invisible grills suit Mysuru
Heritage homes. On a well-kept older bungalow in Gokulam or Jayalakshmipuram, a heavy steel grill spoils the facade. Thin cables are barely visible.
Modern layout houses. Newer homes in Vijayanagar, Kuvempunagar and Bogadi often have large windows that owners want to keep clear.
Rust. Two monsoons a year are hard on painted steel. SS 316 and aluminium don’t rust.
Light. Cables block far less light than bars.

How we install
- Measure each opening; tracks are cut to size.
- Agree cable direction, spacing and track colour.
- Fix tracks top and bottom.
- Thread and tension each cable.
- Check every cable by hand.
Older windows
Many older Mysuru houses have deep window openings in thick walls, sometimes with wooden frames and shutters. Tracks are fitted inside the opening, so the grill sits within the wall and the shutters still close. For homes with original woodwork, we fix to the masonry rather than the frames.
Combining with nets
Because pigeons can pass between the cables, homes with a pigeon problem often add a transparent net behind the grill.

Care
Wipe the cables when dusty and press them gently every few months. If one is looser than the rest, we can re-tension it.

Grills for houses built by their owners
Many Mysuru families build their own homes, and the best time to plan invisible grills is while the house is being finished. Once window openings are plastered, tracks can be fitted neatly to the reveal, and you avoid ever fitting steel grills that would later need replacing.
Rented homes
With the owner’s permission, invisible grills can be fitted by tenants and removed later. The small screw holes are easy to fill.
