A whole-house approach
Because most Mysuru families live in houses, child safety covers the whole building. We walk through each level:
- The staircase. Open sides, wide railing gaps and outside stairs to upper floors.
- The roof. Low parapets and unfinished edges.
- Balconies. Low parapets and decorative railings with wide gaps.
- Windows. Especially those beside beds, and any with widely spaced grills.
- Verandas on older homes.
We secure every gap we find, not only the one you called about.
Materials
| Part | Our choice for homes with children |
|---|---|
| Net | Thick UV-stabilised nylon or HDPE; knotless if you prefer |
| Mesh | Smaller than a standard safety net, so feet find no foothold |
| Anchors | Stainless-steel eye bolts at close spacing |
| Ties | On the outer side, away from small hands |
How we install
- Walk through the house and note every risk.
- Measure each opening, including gaps down to floor level.
- Fix anchors close together.
- Tension the border so the net can’t be pushed outward.
- Lace the net with extra ties at corners and the bottom edge.
- Close railing gaps and side openings.
- Press along the net at child height.
Grandparents and childcare
In many Mysuru families, grandparents look after young children during the day while parents work. Securing the stairs, roof and balconies makes that much easier, because a grandparent doesn’t need to follow a toddler up every flight.
Visiting family during Dasara
Dasara brings many visiting relatives to Mysuru homes, often with children who don’t know the house. Securing the roof and stairs before the festival is a sensible precaution.
Monthly check
Feel for slack at the corners and along the bottom, check no stool has ended up beside the net, and watch for frayed threads.

Rented floors with children
Many young families in Mysuru rent an upper floor in an owner’s house. The outside staircase and the balcony are usually the biggest risks. With the owner’s agreement, nets can be fitted on both and removed when you move.
Combining nets and grills
Some families choose invisible grills for windows and balconies, for their long life, and child safety nets for the roof parapet and staircase, where a net is quicker to fit. Both can be done in one visit.
Before we come
Note your child’s age and move furniture away from balconies and windows so we can measure every edge.
