Drying clothes in Mysuru
Dry months. Clothes dry well on the roof or balcony, though strong sun on an exposed roof can fade colours.
The monsoons. Mysuru gets rain from both monsoons, with long damp spells around September and October. Clothes on an open roof get caught in showers, and clothes indoors take days to dry.
Every day. In houses, the roof is the traditional drying place; in flats, the balcony or utility area.

How we install
We check the ceiling or wall, agree the type and size, fix brackets level and clear of lights and doors, assemble the system and test it.
Rented floors and rooms
Many Mysuru homes rent out a floor or rooms. Giving tenants a proper drying rack on their balcony keeps clothes off railings and the roof tidy. Racks come down cleanly if needed.
Racks and pigeon nets
If pigeons perch on the balcony where clothes dry, fitting a net on the outer edge at the same time keeps the washing clean.
Before we come
Tell us how much washing your household does and send photos of the places you might use, including the ceiling.
Care
Wipe rods occasionally, check pulley ropes every few months and spread heavy items across several rods.

Moving drying off the roof
Carrying wet washing up to the roof every day is hard work, especially for older family members. A ceiling rack on the balcony or in the utility area brings drying down to where the washing is done. The roof can still be used for bedsheets on sunny days.
Sheltered roof corners
Many Mysuru roofs have a sheet-covered corner. Fixed rods or a wall rack there give a drying spot that works during the monsoons. If the parapet is low, a safety net along it makes hanging clothes safer.
Tenants and owners
Owners letting a floor often fit a rack on the tenants’ balcony so the roof doesn’t fill with other people’s washing.
