Around the temple hill
The streets around Simhachalam climb the lower slopes of the hill, with houses stepping up and down and the temple above. Pilgrims and visitors bring pigeons and feed the monkeys, which then look for food in the homes nearby.
For homes close to the hill, a fully enclosed monkey net over the roof and kitchen is the most important fitting, followed by safety nets on downhill roof edges and pigeon nets for ventilators. Keeping food and offerings indoors helps the nets do their job.
