Drying clothes on the coast
Humidity. Sea air is damp for much of the year, so clothes dry slowly, especially in the monsoon.
Wind. Clothes on outside lines or railings can be blown away in a sudden gust.
Salt. Ordinary metal rods and pegs rust and leave marks on clothes.
A rack inside the balcony or utility area, with stainless rods, solves all three.
Types we install
- Ceiling cloth hangers: stainless rods on pulleys. Ceiling cloth hangers in Visakhapatnam.
- Wall-mounted hangers: folding arms for false or high ceilings and narrow spaces. Wall mounted cloth hangers in Visakhapatnam.
- Fixed rods for house terraces.

| Family of four | Ceiling rack with four to six rods |
| Larger family | Ceiling rack plus terrace rods |
How we install
We check the ceiling or wall, agree the type and size, fix brackets level and clear of lights and doors, assemble the system and test it.
Racks and pigeon nets
Utility balconies on the sheltered side of the building are where pigeons nest and where clothes dry. Fitting a net on the outer edge and a rack inside, in one visit, keeps clothes clean.
Care
Wipe rods with fresh water occasionally to remove salt, check pulley ropes every few months and spread heavy items across rods.

Homes across the city
In coastal towers, many associations discourage washing on outside railings, and the wind makes outside lines unreliable anyway, so an inside rack is the answer. In central flats, utility balconies are compact, and a ceiling rack makes the most of the space. In independent houses in Gajuwaka and Pendurthi, families dry clothes on the terrace under a sheet roof, where fixed rods or a wall rack work well.
Monsoon drying
During the monsoon and the humid months around it, spread clothes across every rod and keep the balcony door or window open when you can. Moving air dries clothes faster than warmth alone.
Before we come
Tell us roughly how much washing you do and send photos of the space, including the ceiling.
