Balcony Invisible Grills in Bengaluru

Bengaluru's apartment balconies are often small gardens with a view. Balcony invisible grills keep the plants, the view and the breeze while making the balcony safe for children and pets, using vertical stainless cables that need almost no care and satisfy most association rules.

Why families choose balcony grills in Bengaluru

Many Bengaluru families plan to stay in their flat for years, and they want a solution that will last. A balcony net does the job but has a limited life in the sun. An iron grill boxes the balcony in and is often not allowed. Balcony invisible grills split the difference, with real strength, no rust and very little to see.

They are particularly popular in:

  • towers in the east and south-east with wide balconies and long views
  • complexes with strict facade rules
  • homes with toddlers who are starting to climb
  • homes with cats

Planning a balcony grill

  • Full height is safest for children.
  • Vertical cables give no foothold.
  • Spacing of about 2–3 inches, closer for toddlers.
  • Glass railings: the bottom track goes on the slab or the railing base, never the glass.
  • Corners: L-shaped balconies get separate panels joined at the corner.
  • Pigeon net: can be fitted behind the grill at the same time.
  • Plants: hanging planters are kept inside the cable line.

Specification

Part What we fit
Cables SS 316 stainless steel with coating, about 2–3 mm
Direction Vertical
Tracks Aluminium at slab and parapet
Fixings Stainless anchors
Optional Transparent pigeon net

Installation

Measuring comes first, followed by levelling and fixing the tracks. Cables are then threaded and tightened to an even tension, side panels go in if required, and a pigeon net, if chosen, is the last step. Every cable is checked by hand.

Balcony grills across the city

In Whitefield, Bellandur and Sarjapur Road, towers often have balconies with glass railings and lake or skyline views. In HSR Layout, Koramangala and JP Nagar, mid-rise balconies are smaller and the grill makes them feel more open than an iron grill would. In older houses in the west and south, grills replace rusted iron on balconies of upper floors.

Care

A wipe clears the dust, a gentle press every few months tests the tension, and stools and plant stands should stay well back.

Grills, nets and association approvals

Because balcony grills are visible from outside, many Bengaluru associations ask residents to apply before installation. It helps to share a photo of a similar grill and the track colour you plan to use. In our experience of the product, transparent coatings and grey or white tracks are the easiest to get approved because they disappear against most facades.

If pigeons are also a problem, decide at the same time whether you want a transparent net behind the cables. Fitting both together means one approval, one visit and a neater finish where the net meets the tracks.

Rented flats

Tenants can fit balcony grills with the owner’s agreement. Moving out? The whole grill unscrews, and the small holes left behind are easy to fill.

Balcony Invisible Grills in Bengaluru: FAQs

Should the grill cover the full height?

For homes with children, yes, from the parapet to the ceiling slab, so there is no gap at the top.

Why vertical cables?

Horizontal cables can be climbed like a ladder. Vertical cables give no foothold.

Can I add a pigeon net behind the grill?

Yes. A transparent net behind the cables keeps birds out of the balcony.

Do associations allow balcony grills?

Most allow invisible grills because they are barely visible. Some specify track colour.

Will my plants be affected?

No. Light, air and rain pass between the cables.

How long does installation take?

A standard balcony takes about a day.

Can a tenant fit a balcony grill?

Yes, with the owner's permission. The grill can be removed when you move out, leaving small holes that can be filled.
